  • David “Lefty” Schlesinger is Director of Open Source Technologies at ACCESS Co., Ltd., ACCESS’ representative to the LiMo Foundation Architecture Council and the Chair of the LiMo Foundation Open Source Council. He works principally on ACCESS’ open source strategy and community relations, and represents ACCESS in a number of industry and community initiatives. Lefty is well-known in the open source community and is a frequent presenter and panelist at open source-related and industry conferences and events, and has spoken in the past year at the Linux Foundation Collaboration Summit, the GNOME Users & Developers European Conference (GUADEC), the Ottawa Linux Symposium, Open Source in Mobile, Interop, LugRadio Live USA, and AJAXWorld’s iPhone Developers’ Summit.

Tim has spent over 17 years in the mobile telecoms industry, working first on the standardization of the GSM system, through the launch of the Orange network and moving through innovation and strategy roles. Tim has extensive knowledge in the areas of technology evaluation, business case development, due diligence and the overall environment of the global mobile telecoms, media and internet industry.   • Jason Whitmire has more than 14 years of executive marketing and management experience in semiconductor and system software. He currently serves as General Manager of Wind River’s Mobile Solutions business and is a Member of the Board of the LiMo Foundation. Previously he was a managing director of FSMLabs, where he headed the worldwide wireless and EMEA businesses, and he was a founder of the software business at Comneon, the wireless software subsidiary of Infineon Technologies, where he led the company’s licensing business for four years. Additionally, Jason has held senior product management, marketing and business development positions at two European mobile network operators. Jason got his start in the wireless arena in 1993 while representing the US government in international spectrum and privatization negotiations.

He served as Membership Director for industry consortia the Liberty Alliance Project and Blade.org. At Sun Microsystems he helped drive the company's Java and Liberty Alliance launch initiatives. In addition, he was a founding executive at Radical Communication, where he helped raise nearly $20 million in venture financing and drove market adoption of interactive video and email marketing technology solutions.

Prior to joining LiMo, Gyanee has occupied a broad range of marketing functions in companies ranging from start-ups such as Carrier IQ to large corporations such as Gemalto and Alcatel. Gyanee started her career as a telecoms engineer in the mobile division of Alcatel in Paris. Gyanee holds an MSc in Telecommunications from UCL, London.   • Matt Swan is Technology Manager at LiMo Foundation where he is a member of the Architectural Steering Committee. He is a mobile industry professional having spent the last twelve years in the mobile OS and application space in a range of technical and project lead roles. During his years at Symbian he was deeply involved in the development of the core telephony and networking frameworks, before taking on leadership of the Comms Porting Group within Symbian’s Customer Engineering dept and managing a number of successful engagements with licensees including Sony Ericsson and DoCoMo.   • Andrew Savory is the Open Source Manager for LiMo Foundation, where he works to ensure understanding of and compliance to open source principles and to facilitate contributions back to open source communities. He has over a decade of firsthand insight of working with industry leaders using and engaging with open source. Andrew has worked with open source software starting with Linux in 1994 and founding the Linux user group ALUG (Anglian Linux User Group, http://www.alug.org.uk/) shortly after. He was the founder of one of the earliest open source software solutions providers in the UK, Sourcesense (http://www.sourcesense.com/), and instrumental in the creation of the Association For Free Software, a UK offshoot of the Free Software Foundation.
